Quotations

Quotations are free and given in writing. A quotation is based on the information and photographs supplied and, where we have attended, on what was visible at the time.

Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

If work is opened up and something is found that could not reasonably have been seen when the price was given, we will stop, explain what has been found, and agree the cost of putting it right before continuing.

Appointments and access

We will agree a date with you and let you know if anything changes. You are responsible for providing safe access to the property and to the areas we need to work in, including the consumer unit and meter.

If we attend at an agreed time and cannot get access, we may charge for the visit.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless different terms have been agreed with you in writing beforehand. On larger jobs we may ask for a contribution towards materials before they are ordered, and this will always be set out in the quotation.

Title in any materials supplied remains with us until they have been paid for in full.

Standard of work and certification

Work is carried out and tested to the wiring regulations current at the time. Where a job requires it, you will be issued with the appropriate certificate on completion, and any notification required will be made.

Our workmanship is guaranteed. If something we have installed develops a fault as a result of the work we carried out, ring us and we will come back and put it right. Manufacturer warranties on equipment we supply are separate and are passed on to you.

Cancelling

Where a contract is agreed away from our business premises, for example in your home or by telephone, you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason.

If you have asked us in writing to begin work within that period and we have done so, you may be charged for the work carried out up to the point of cancellation.

Our liability

We hold public liability insurance. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for pre-existing defects in an installation that were not part of the work we were asked to carry out, or for damage caused by others working on the same property.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

If something is wrong

Tell us. Ring 07930 536597 and we will come back and look at it. Most things are resolved with a phone call and a return visit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
